ESL TEACHER
Shaloh House, a private Jewish school in Brighton, Ma 02135, is currently looking for a
certified English as a Second Language tutor for our English learner students for grades
1-4. The position is part-time 2-4 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
– Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to students in English.
– Develop and implement personalized lesson plans based on the student's needs and
learning goals.
– Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance the tutoring
experience.
– Assist students in improving their academic performance and understanding of the
subject matter.
– Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
– Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment, promoting student
engagement and motivation.
– Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a
comprehensive approach to student learning.
– Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a productive
tutoring session.
Experience:
– Previous experience working with students in an educational setting, such as teaching,
tutoring, or mentoring.
– Strong knowledge and expertise in the subject area(s) being tutored.
– Familiarity with various tutoring techniques and strategies to accommodate different
learning styles.
– Experience working with diverse student populations, including students English
language learners.
– Knowledge of literacy education and special education practices is highly desirable.
– ESL certificate is a must.
