Spurred by results from the Food Access Committee’s assessment, ABHC partnered with member organizations ABCD Neighborhood Opportunity Center, Brighton Main Streets, and PSF Community Center to develop and launch the Oak Square Farmers Market (renamed as the Brighton Farmers Market in 2019 and moved to Brighton Common at 30 Chestnut Hill Avenue in Brighton). The market has increased healthy food access and fosters community engagement opportunities for residents, organizations, and businesses alike.

2019 Brighton Farmers Market results

It’s a painful time in our country and community. Our Black and brown neighbors may feel particularly threatened. Brighton Farmers Market joins with our friends and neighbors to say that we see you and support you.

Put a light in your window to be a beacon of hope and healing in our community. Tag a friend or neighbor and share this message to show you care.

the entire Senate Ways and Means committee for including $13 million for the Healthy Incentives Program in the Senate fiscal year 2021 budget proposal!!
HIP is a critical program for the Commonwealth’s recovery, supporting both local farmers and healthy families, and the Brighton Farmers Market. #HIPworksGood Thursday news!
Thank you State Representative Aaron Michlewitz, the entire House Ways and Means committee, House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo, and our very own Kevin G. Honan and State Representative Mike Moran for including $13 million for the Healthy Incentives Program in the fiscal year 2021 budget proposal!!
This growth will ensure that the program can support the new farmers welcomed into the program this summer, and households who have started receiving SNAP due to the effects of the pandemic. HIP is a critical program for the Commonwealth’s recovery, supporting both local farmers and healthy families. #HIPworks
