This Spring, a Boston Public Health Commission report highlighted that residents living in neighborhoods just two miles apart had a 23-year gap in life expectancy. This begs the questions, in a global hub for healthcare innovation like Boston, why are residents experiencing such disparate health outcomes? And how can each of us make a bigger impact?

If you want to answer these questions, we invite you to apply to our Spring Health Equity Leadership Program! https://www.genunity.org/program/health

What you can expect from our program:

  • Who: 50 everyday leaders proximate to or passionate about addressing health inequities
  • What, Where, When: 10-week hybrid program, 2-3 hours per week, March 23, 2024 to May 23, 2023
  • Why:
    • Learn why health disparities persist in Boston
    • Connect with leaders across the healthcare ecosystem
    • Build leadership skills to drive change in your workplace or community
  • How: Apply here by November 17th for priority deadline!
    • The cost of our program is $12,000. Through our partnership with the Commonwealth Corporation, a state agency that supports workforce development, most employers with <100 Massachusetts employees are eligible for 100% reimbursement of program costs.
    • Full scholarships and hourly stipends ($30/hr) are available to community members who otherwise wouldn’t be able to participate.

Our past cohort members have helped change health insurance policies, introduced statewide fair housing legislation, and changed workplace practices in hospitals and businesses.

We encourage you to reach out to us if you want to learn more (email us atteam@genunity.org) and share this opportunity with people in your network who would be interested. If you know someone who might be interested, you can nominate them here and our team will reach out to them!

Tackling our health challenges requires a collective approach that starts with each of us doing what we can, where we are. We invite you to consider applying or sharing this with others today.
