Hello Folks!

ABHC Food Access Committee is in full swing! We have two more in person planning session to kick off this committee.  We encourage you to jump right in as we discuss ways to improve food accessibility in the neighborhood of Allston Brighton

Together we have:

  • Built and deepen relationships of trust and shared interest
  • Examined existing neighborhood food access data at a neighborhood wide and census tract level
  • established our shared values, priorities, objectives and strategies for our work

Priorities so far include:

  1. Community Resources - This includes a focus on farmers market, grocery store price assessments, education and advocacy around food, food co-op, information sharing, community building
  2. Availability - This includes a focus on affordability, culturally relevant foods, more options, access and proximity

So far our Vision and Mission includes:

  • Improved access to culturally diverse, affordable, healthy, and fresh food for everyone in Allston Brighton through community-led programming, resource-sharing, and advocacy.Photo Attachment

Free food & beverage, childcare, and interpretation (Spanish, Portuguese, Russian & Chinese) will be provided.

These meetings are open to the public.  We encourage you to share this more broadly with members of the community.  No registration or sign up required to attend.
